Smoke, Black -- Excessive (Continued)
Check and correct any leaks in the exhaust
manifold or turbocharger gaskets. Check for a

Check for the specified boost pressure. Inspect
urbocharger is worn or malfunctioning

Remove and test the injectors. Replace as

necessary. Refer to Procedure 006-026.
Remove the injector. Check for extra sealing
washer is installed under the injector. Check
njector sealing washer not correct
for proper sealing washer, and remove any
additional sealing washer(s). Only one is
required. Refer to Procedure 006-026.
Put the engine at top dead center. Check and
uel injection pump timing is not correct
adjust the fuel timing. Refer to Procedure
Remove the fuel injection pump. Check the
uel injection pump is malfunctioning
Procedure 005-012 or 005-014.
Perform a compression check and correct as
iston rings not sealing (blue smoke)
required. Refer to Procedure 014-008.
