STARTING ENGINE CONTINUED
3.
Ensure the parking brake is ON and the throttle controls are in the idle position (WP 0004).
CAUTION
Do not crank the engine for longer than 30 seconds. Allow the starter to cool for 2 minutes before
cranking again. Failure to do so could result in damage to equipment.
4.
Turn the starter key (Figure 3, Item 2) to the "I" (ignition) position. Ensure the wait to start light on the EMS panel (WP
0021) has come on. When the light goes off to indicate that the engine pre-heat system has reached the required tempera-
ture, start the engine by turning the switch to the "II" (start) position. Once the engine has started, release the starter key;
the key will return to the "I" position.

NOTE
Under certain conditions, the air intake heaters (grid heaters) can remain active or be reactivated by
the engine ECU while the engine is running.
6.
Ensure the warning lights on the display panel (WP 0004) have extinguished.
