Measure the valve stem diameter.

Check the valve stem tip for flatness.
Visually inspect for bent valves.
Measure the rim thickness to determine if there is enough
stock to grind the valve.
Limits
Minimum (T): 0.79 mm [0.031 in].
If the valves are determined to be suitable for resurfacing
refer to the valve grinding procedures on page 2-13.
