Section TS - Troubleshooting Symptoms
This is symptom tree T013.
Battery cables or connections are loose,
Check the battery cables and connections.
broken, or corroded (excessive resistance)
Refer to Procedure 013-009.
Load test the battery. If the battery charge is
low, charge the battery. If battery fails the
attery condition poor
second load test, replace the battery. Refer to
the OEM service manual.
pulleys in belt wrap, and repair, if necessary.
lternator belt is loose or missing
Replace belt or belt tensioner, or both. Refer to
Tighten the pulley. Refer to the OEM service
lternator pulley is loose on the shaft
Inspect the alternator mounting hardware for a
good electrical connection to the battery.
lternator connection to ground is poor
Remove any paint or debirs from the ground
connection. Check mounting bracket bolts for
proper torque. Refer to Procedure 013-001.
Check the voltage regulator. Replace the
oltage regulator is malfunctioning
voltage regulator, if necessary. Refer to the
OEM service manual.
Test the alternator output. Refer to Procedure
