Section TS - Troubleshooting Symptoms
Engine Difficult to Start or Will Not Start (No Exhaust Smoke)
This is symptom tree T044.
Verify the correct starting procedure. Refer to
Starting procedure is not correct
the Operation and Maintenance Manual, B
Series Engines, Bulletin No. 3810205..
Check and replenish fuel supply. Check fittings
o fuel in supply tank
and hose connections and hose conditions.
Check for loose wires and verify that the fuel
shutoff valve is functioning. Check to be sure
uel shutoff (electrical or manual) not open
manual shutoff lever is in the run position.
Refer to Procedure 005-043.
Inspect the fuel transfer pump. Replace if
uel transfer pump malfunctioning
necessary. Refer to Procedure 005-045.
Check the flow through the fuel filter. Replace
the fuel filter if necessary. Refer to Procedure

006-015. Clean all prefilters and screens.
Check the fuel suction line for restriction.
Drain the fuel water separator and replace the
