Air Intake and Exhaust System
COMPRESSOR HOUSING OUTLET
1. Check compressor housing outlet (A). The outlet
should be clean and free of dirt or oil.
2. Mark it on your checklist if dirt or oil is found and
continue the inspection.
Checking Compressor Outlet

TURBINE HOUSING INLET
Check the turbine housing inlet ports (arrow) for oil in
housing, excessive carbon deposit or erosion of center
walls.
NOTE: If the inlet is wet with oil, or has excessive carbon
deposits, an engine problem is likely. Center wall
erosion (cracking or missing pieces), indicate
excessive exhaust temperature.
