CHECK OIL LINES AND FITTINGS
CAUTION: Escaping fluid under pressure can
penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Avoid
the hazard by relieving pressure before
disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten
all connections before applying pressure.
Search for leaks with a piece of cardboard.
Protect hands and body from high pressure
fluids.
If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately.
Any fluid injected into the skin must be
surgically removed within a few hours or
gangrene may result. Doctors unfamiliar with
this type of injury may call the Deere &
Company Medical Department in Moline, Illinois,
or other knowledgeable medical source.
Check all oil lines, hoses and fittings regularly for leaks or
damage. Make sure all clamps are in position and tight.
Make sure hoses are not twisted or touching machine
parts which are moving.
Tubing with dents may cause the oil to overheat. If you
find tubing with dents, install new tubing immediately.
IMPORTANT: Tighten fittings as specified in torque
chart.
When you tighten connections, use two wrenches to
prevent bending or breaking tubing and fittings.
