REMOVE AND INSTALL SPROCKET

IMPORTANT: Sprocket must be replaced when the
tooth tips become excessively rounded,
worn, or chipped to prevent excessive
wear to chain. If unit is driven in one
direction a majority of the time, wear
will be on one side of teeth. To extend
service life, change sprockets from one
side of unit to the other.
1. Disconnect and remove track chain from sprocket (A).
(See procedure in this group.)
2. Lift side of unit so sprocket teeth clear chain.
3. Remove cap screws (B).
CAUTION: Approximate weight of sprocket is 45
kg (98 lb).

4. Attach sprocket to hoist. Remove sprocket from final
A--Sprocket
drive, or move sprocket to other side of machine or
B--Cap Screws
replace.
5. Clean threads of cap screws (B) using cure primer.
Apply thread lock and sealer (high strength).
6. Install sprocket (A) and tighten cap screws (B).
Sprocket Cap Screw--Specification
Torque ......................................................................... 470 Nm (350 lb-ft)
7. Lower machine.
8. Install track chain. (See procedure in this group.)
9. Adjust track sag. (See procedure in this group.)
