Use oil viscosity based on the expected air temperature
range during the period between oil changes.
John Deere PLUS-50 engine oil is preferred.
If John Deere PLUS-50 engine oil and a John Deere oil
filter are used, the service interval for oil and filter
changes may be extended by 50 %. If other than
PLUS-50 oil and the specified John Deere filter are used,
change the engine oil and filter at the normal service
interval.
John Deere TORQ-GARD SUPREME oil is also
recommended.
Other oils may be used if they meet one or more of the
following:
API Service Classification CG-4
API Service Classification CF-4
ACEA Specification E3
ACEA Specification E2
MIL-PRF-2104G
MIL-PRF-46167C
Multi-viscosity diesel engine oils are preferred.
If diesel fuel with sulfur content greater than 0.5% is used,
reduce the service interval by 50%.
