Locate top dead center (TDC) for cylinder No. 1. Push the
TDC pin into the hole in the camshaft gear while slowly
barring the engine.
NOTE: Be sure to disengage the timing pin after locating
TDC.

Remove the fuel injection pump mounting bracket, if
applicable.
CAUTION
Do not drop the nut and washer. Dropping the nut and
washer will result in the need to remove the front cover.
30 mm
Remove the gear cover access cap.
Remove the nut and washer from the fuel injection pump
shaft.
T-Bar Puller
Pull the fuel injection pump drive gear loose from the shaft.
