Sub-System Diagnostics
STARTER PROTECTION
1--24 Volt Terminal
YES: Relay is OK.
RELAY (K11) CHECK
2--Ground Terminal
3--Relay Common
NO: Relay has failed.
4--Relay Normally Closed
Replace.
5--Relay Normally Open
Disconnect harness from starter protection relay.
Connect ohmmeter to terminals 3 and 4.

Does ohmmeter read continuity?
Connect 24 volts to relay terminal 1 and ground terminal
2.
Does relay "click"?
Connect ohmmeter to terminals 3 and 5.

YES: Solenoid is OK.
FUEL SHUTOFF
SOLENOID (Y7) CHECK
NO: Solenoid has failed.
Replace.

Disconnect harness from fuel shutoff solenoid.
Connect 24 volts to solenoid terminals 1 and 2, and ground terminal 3, then remove
power from terminal 2.
Does solenoid "click" and pull injection pump shutoff lever back, and remain in the
energized position after power is removed from terminal 2?
