TOWING THE EXCAVATOR
CAUTION: Prevent possible injury from
unexpected machine movement. Block both
tracks when disconnecting propel gearboxes.

When propel gearboxes are disconnected,

machine has no brakes and can move. The
machine will roll free on a slope or while being
towed.
IMPORTANT: Planetary drive shaft must be removed
when towing unit to prevent damage to
equipment.
1. Block tracks.
2. Drain oil from each propel gearbox. Approximate oil
capacity is 6.0 L (6.5 qt).
3. Remove cover from each gearbox.

4. Remove sun gear (A) from each gearbox.
5. Install cover. Fill gearbox with oil. (See Swing Gearbox
and Propel Gearbox Oils in Group 0004.)
