Operational Checkout Procedure
ENGINE HEAD GASKET
Engine at normal temperature.
YES: Head gasket is OK.
SEAL CHECK
Go to next Check.
Radiator full.
NO: If there is a constant
flow of bubbles from tube,
Install radiator cap and tighten.

Repair chapter.
Operate engine at fast idle. Load engine by holding a
hydraulic function over relief.
Look for bubbles coming from overflow tube. Do bubbles
flow from tube intermittently?

9 AIR INTAKE SYSTEM CHECKS

Run engine at slow idle.
AIR FILTER
YES: Go to next check.
RESTRICTION
INDICATOR AND
Slowly cover air intake tube.
NO: Check monitor circuit
SWITCH CHECK
fuse, air filter restriction
indicator light and switch.
Does air filter restriction indicator light in cab come ON?
Go to Section 9015-15.
