Troubleshooting Sequence
DTC 636.05 or DTC 636.06
DTC 636.08
When DTC is Displayed
The engine is cranking or running and the error condition is active.
Related Information
The ECU does not detect a high-pressure fuel pump position sensor signal when engine is cranking or running.
This DTC can be caused by an open or shorted circuit in the sensor wiring.
Alarm Level
Warning.
Prolonged cranking time may be required to start the engine.
The ECU will use the crankshaft position signal input to determine high pressure fuel pump and pump position.
If a crankshaft position signal DTC accompanies 636.08, the engine cannot be started and will stall if running until
at least one of the two codes is repaired.
