In cold weather conditions, the IHMEE may be equipped with a cold weather kit capable of heating the engine block prior to
starting the vehicle, assisting the starting procedure, and maintaining the batteries' charge in cold weather conditions.
The arctic heater (1) draws the cold coolant in from the return side of the cooling system and heats the coolant. The arctic
heater then pushes the coolant out to the supply side of the cooling system, warming the engine prior to starting the vehicle.
The ether start (2) injects starting fluid into the engine air intake. The starting fluid burns more easily in very cold weather, and
assists the starting procedure.
A standard power cord can be plugged into the electrical outlet (3). The electrical outlet allows the block heater (4) and battery
trickle charger (5) to be supplied with 110-V power. The block heater allows the coolant to remain warm in cold weather. The
battery trickle charger allows a steady current of electricity to be applied to the batteries to maintain their charge.
