Remove and discard the cover O-ring and
sector shaft seal (Figure) or the 3-piece seal
assembly (Figure 92). (if equipped).

NOTE:
Later model steering gears may have an
excluder seal pressed in the sector shaft cover.
Use a screwdriver to pry the excluder seal
from the cover (Figure 93).
