With bolt-on retainers, remove the mounting
bolts and ball guide retainer. Remove and
discard the seal ring from the retainer
(Figure 102).

Do not remove the piston at this time. Leave
the piston in the housing with the ball guide
exposed (Figure 103).

Remove the ball return guides. The steel balls
are then free to roll out of the ball cavity in the
piston (Figure 104).
