Clean and check the lubricating oil drain plug threads and
sealing surface.
Install the lubricating oil pan drain plug.
Torque Value: 60 Nm
[44 ft-lb]
Fill (007-025-028)
Fill the engine with clean lubricating oil to the proper level.
Refer to Procedure 007-043 for proper oil level.
NOTE: Use a high-quality 15W-40 multiviscosity oil, such
as Cummins Premium Blue , or its equivalent in Cummins
engines. Choose the correct oil for your operating climate
as outlined in the Operation and Maintenance Manual, B
Series Engine, Bulletin No. 3810205.
Turbocharged engines: CF/SG
Naturally aspirated engines: CD/CE/SG.
Idle the engine to inspect for leaks at the drain plug.
NOTE: Engine oil pressure must be indicated on the gauge
within 15 seconds after starting. If oil pressure is not reg-
istered within 15 seconds, shut off the engine immediately
to avoid engine damage. Confirm the correct oil level in the
oil pan.
