NOTE: Do not idle the engine for more than 5 minutes at
any one time during the first 160 km [100 mi] of operation.
Off-Highway Applications
NOTE: Refer to General Engine Test Procedures (Chassis
Dynamometer) (Procedure 014-005) before operating the
engine to avoid internal component damage.
Operate the engine as follows during the first 3 hours after
rebuild:
1. Do not idle the engine for more than 5 minutes at any
one time.
2. Operate the engine at 75-percent throttle while loaded.
3. Do not operate the engine at rated speed (rpm) and full
load for more than 5 minutes at any one time.
