NOTE: Spindle/seal O-ring (B) is pressed into pump

housing. This seal keeps diesel fuel from leaking
past spindle (A) and entering injection pump
6. Remove spindle seal from housing using needle nose
pliers. Discard seal.

INSPECT AND REPAIR FUEL SUPPLY PUMP
COMPONENTS
1. Inspect supply pump housing for cracks and wear. Be
sure valve seating areas are not pitted. Replace
housing as necessary.
2. Check roller tappet and plunger bore for wear and
scoring. Remove any deposits in housing with a
suitable solvent. Rinse housing in clean diesel fuel.
3. Check condition of threads for inlet and outlet fittings.
Pump elbow fittings have 1/2-20 threads.
