IMPORTANT: Metal face seals can be reused if they
are not worn or damaged. A used seal
must be kept together as a set because
of wear patterns on seal ring face.
22. Remove metal face seal (A). Keep seal rings together
as a matched set with metal faces together to protect
surfaces.
23. Inspect metal face seal. (See procedure in this
group.) For seals that are reused, put a piece of

cardboard between seal rings to protect seal ring

24. Remove bearing cups (B and C) only if replacement

is necessary. Bearing cups are press fit.
