2-28. MANUAL HANDLING.
Follow safe working procedures when lifting or moving heavy items. Use an appropriate lifting device
whenever part to be moved exceeds 50 lb. (23 kg). Failure to comply may result in injury or death to
personnel.
Many of the operating and maintenance procedures require the manual handling of heavy items (e.g., changing a tire). Refer to
appropriate manuals and regulations for guidance and follow all safe working procedures.
2-29. FLYING DEBRIS HAZARD.
Guard against injury from flying pieces of metal or debris. Wear safety glasses or goggles. Keep personnel away from the
working area and take care when striking any object with IHMEE tools in order to avoid personal injury.
2-30. CRUSH HAZARD.
Always securely support vehicle if required to work under it. Failure to comply may result in injury or
death to personnel.
