a. Testing.
Hydraulic fluid (Dexron III) is TOXIC. Wear protective goggles and gloves; use only in
well-ventilated area; avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothes. Skin and clothing that come in contact
with hydraulic oil should be washed immediately. Saturated clothing should be removed immediately.
Failure to comply may result in injury to personnel.
NOTE
Ensure no 90-degree elbows or hoses with tight bends are used when connecting meters and/or gauges.
Ensure suitable hoses and fittings are used when connecting meters and/or gauges.
If you are attempting to troubleshoot power steering problems, review the flow and pressure testing
portions of the "Diagnosis & Troubleshooting" material starting on page K-16.

Place drain pan beneath power steering gearbox.
(2)
Refer to page K-19 for flow and pressure testing procedure.
b. Follow-On Maintenance.
(1)
Return power steering gear box and corresponding hoses are returned to proper configuration (Para 5-9).
(2)
Check for leaks and refill power steering reservoir (Para 5-5).
