Follow these steps to tighten the capscrews.

The crankshaft must rotate freely.
Check the bearing installations and the size of the bear-
ings if the crankshaft does not rotate freely.
Position a dial indicator to measure crankshaft end play.
The dimensions of the thrust bearing and crankshaft
journal determine end play.
Measure the end play.
