c. Assembly.
Hydraulic cylinders are heavy. To avoid personal injury, exercise extreme care when manually
handling the cylinders. Failure to comply may result in serious injury or death to personnel.
Cleanliness is essential for correct and safe operation of hydraulic system. Ensure dirt and debris are
not allowed to enter hydraulic system. Failure to comply may result in damage to equipment.
NOTE
The 4-in-1 bucket, tilt, stabilizer, and FEL lift cylinders are assembled in a similar manner. 4-in-1
bucket cylinder shown.
It may be necessary to use a vice to hold cylinder in place to assemble front cap.
Apply a coat of grease to all packing, O-rings, and seals prior to assembly.

Install new O-ring (13), new wiper (12), and
new seal (11) on front cap (1).
NOTE
Perform Step (2) for stabilizer and FEL lift
cylinders. Perform Step (3) for 4-in-1 bucket or
tilt cylinders.

Install front cap (1), new O-ring (10), new
O-ring (9), and new O-ring (8) on rod (5). Go to
Step (4).

Install front cap (1), new seal (9), and new
O-ring (8) on rod (5).

Position piston (7) and new seal (6) on rod (5).
(5)
Install new self-locking nut (4) on rod (5).
Torque to 400 lbf/ft (542 Nm) for 4-in-1 bucket
and tilt cylinders. Torque to 960 lbf/ft
(1302 Nm) for lift and stabilizer cylinders.

Install rod assembly (2) by threading front
cap (1) onto barrel assembly (3).
NOTE
Ensure front cap is completely tightened prior

Tighten front cap (1) completely and match-up
marks.
