23. When installing the stick-on dirt shield, it is
important to thoroughly clean the housing
with a suitable solvent. Apply a thin coat of
RTV to the edge of the dirt shield and place
it over the end of the sector shaft. Allow
adequate time for the RTV to set.

24. Attach the mounting bracket to the gear hous-
ing using the attaching bolts, and torque to
manufacturer's specifications (Figure 146) (if
equipped).
