HYDRAULIC HOSE REEL DOES NOT OPERATE OR LOW HYDRAULIC POWER ON HAND
TOOL ATTACHMENT.
Hydraulic fluid (Dexron III) is TOXIC. Wear protective goggles and gloves; use only in
well-ventilated area; avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothes. Skin and clothing that come in
contact with hydraulic oil should be washed immediately. Saturated clothing should be removed
immediately. Failure to comply may result in injury or death to personnel.
Step 1.
Check for damaged hoses and connectors on hose reel (1).
If hoses and connectors are damaged, replace hoses and connectors (Para 10-29).
Step 2.
Connect and operate 4-in-1 bucket (2) (TM 5-2420-230-10).
If 4-in-1 bucket (2) operates, go to Step 3.
Step 3.
Operate another hydraulic function (TM 5-2420-230-10).
If only 4-in-1 bucket (2) does not operate, go to Fault 27.2.
If no other hydraulic functions operate, go to Fault 28.
Remove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags, bracelets, etc. If jewelry or tools contact positive electrical circuits, a
direct short may result. Damage to equipment and injury or death to personnel may occur.
Step 4.
Check wire harness on hose reel switch (3) for continuity (refer to FO-3).
If continuity is present, replace hose reel valve assembly (Para 10-33).
If continuity is not present, replace hose reel switch (Para 10-32).
