Step 2.
Check battery cables (2) and batteries (3) for damage, and ensure they are fully charged
(TM 9-6140-200-14).
If battery posts (4) are broken, or if batteries (3) will not charge, replace batteries (Para 12-6).
If battery cables (2) are broken or damaged, replace battery cables (Para 12-7).
Step 3.
With engine running, check for 26 to 28 Vdc at terminal B on alternator (5) (refer to FO-3).
If output of alternator (5) is less than 26 Vdc or greater than 28 Vdc, replace alternator (Para 12-10).
If alternator (5) is reading the correct voltage and problem persists, notify supervisor.
