ETHER START WILL NOT WORK.
NOTE
Ether start will only function if engine block temperature is 60 F (16 C) or below.
While performing troubleshooting checks, ensure all wires and tube are properly connected.
Step 1.
Test starting fluid cylinder (1) (Para 20-15).
If starting fluid cylinder (1) is empty, replace starting fluid cylinder (Para 20-15).
If starting fluid cylinder (1) is not empty, install same starting fluid cylinder (1) (Para 20-15).
Step 2.
Check continuity of valve assembly (2).
If valve assembly (2) does not have continuity, replace valve assembly (Para 20-13).
Step 3.
Check continuity of wire (3) between thermostat (4) and ether valve (2).
If wire (3) does not have continuity, replace wire (Para 20-16).
NOTE
Thermostat will only have continuity if block temperature is 60 F (16 C) or below.
Step 4.
Check continuity of thermostat (4).
If thermostat (4) does not have continuity, replace thermostat (Para 20-16).
