d. Follow-On Maintenance.
Starting fluid cylinders are typically stored with the threaded end up, which is opposite of its installed
position. Therefore, when a new cylinder is first installed, allow the contents to settle for approximately
15 to 20 min. Failure to comply may result in damage to equipment.

Functionally test ether start while starting engine (TM 5-2420-230-10).
(2)
Shut OFF engine (TM 5-2420-230-10).
(3)
Remove "Do Not Operate" tag from ignition switch (TM 5-2420-230-10).
