Cylinder Head and Valves
CHECK CYLINDER HEAD COMBUSTION
FACE FLATNESS
Check cylinder head flatness using D05012ST Precision
Straightedge and feeler gauge. Check lengthwise,
crosswise, and diagonally in several places.
If any measurement exceeds this specification, the
cylinder head must be either resurfaced or replaced. (See
MEASURE CYLINDER HEAD THICKNESS, later in this
group.)

Flatness ...................................................... 0.08 mm (0.003 in.) maximum
acceptable out-of-flat over entire
length or width
Straightness............................................. Within 0.025 mm (0.001 in.) per
any 305 mm (12 in.) length
