RECOVERY - Continued
CAUTION
Use of a refrigerant indentifier is required to ensure that refrigerant to be recovered is
R-134a. Failure to comply may result in damage to the equipment.
Air conditioner receiver/dryer must be replaced each time air conditioner system is
opened. Failure to comply may result in damage to the equipment.
NOTE
After recovery is completed, wait 5-10 minutes, then perform recovery again to ensure that
system is completely recovered.

Remove high-pressure cap (Figure 1, Item 1) from service valve (Figure 1, Item 2).

Remove low-pressure cap (Figure 1, Item 3) from service valve (Figure 1, Item 4).
3.
Connect high-pressure (red) hose (Figure 1, Item 5) to service valve (Figure 1, Item 2).
4.
Connect low-pressure (blue) hose (Figure 1, Item 6) to service valve (Figure 1, Item 4).
5.
Open low-pressure (blue) hose coupler (Figure 1, Item 7) by turning clockwise.
6.
Open high-pressure (red) hose coupler (Figure 1, Item 8) by turning clockwise.
NOTE
Record amount of P.A.G. oil drained during recovery. The same amount of oil will need to be
added during system charging.
7.
Using recovery machine (Figure 2, Item 9) operating instructions, recover refrigerant from air conditioning
system.
