Remove bolt (3), two washers (4), and self-locking nut (5) from U-joint (6). Discard self-locking nut.

Compress slip joint (7) to remove U-joint (6) from steering column shaft (8).

Remove two bolts (9), four washers (10), and two self-locking nuts (11) from carrier bearing (12). Discard
self-locking nuts.

Remove bolt (13), two washers (14), and self-locking nut (15) from U-joint (16). Discard self-locking nut.
(6)
Remove U-joint (16) from miter box shaft (17).
(7)
Remove rear steering shaft (18) through crew compartment.
