e. Front Shaft Installation.
NOTE
The steering shaft slip joints are precisely aligned. It is important that alignment is maintained
during maintenance.
If steering shaft slip joint was separated, ensure scribe marks on slip and joint are aligned.
(1)
Install U-joint (22) on miter box shaft (31).
(2)
Install U-joint (26) on steering box assembly shaft (30).
(3)
Install bolt (23), two washers (24), and new self-locking nut (25) on U-joint (26). Tighten self-locking nut.
(4)
Install bolt (19), two washers (20), and new self-locking nut (21) on U-joint (22). Tighten self-locking nut.
(5)
Install miter box (29), three washers (28), and new self-locking nuts (27). Tighten self-locking nuts.
