NOTE
Ensure all strands of wire are inside terminal when installing.
7.
Install wire (Figure 4, Item 16) and seal (Figure 4, Item 17) to terminal (Figure 4, Item 18) and crimp.
NOTE
Terminal will seat only one way. If terminal does not push into the connector body socket,
check to make sure terminal is aligned correctly.
8.
Insert terminal (Figure 4, Item 18), seal (Figure 4, Item 17), and wire (Figure 4, Item 16) into connector (Figure
4, Item 14) and push until terminal (Figure 4, Item 18) stops.
9.
Pull on wire (Figure 4, Item 16) to confirm that terminal (Figure 4, Item 18) is locked in connector (Figure 4,
Item 14).
10.
Install connector lock (Figure 4, Item 13) to connector (Figure 4, Item 14).

Ensure electrical power is off prior to working on all electrical connections. Prior to working
on or around vehicle, remove all jewelry, such as rings, ID tags, bracelets, etc. Jewelry, and
tools can catch on equipment, contact positive electrical circuits, and cause a direct short,
severe burns, or electrical shock. Failure to comply may result in injury or death to personnel.
CAUTION
Terminals come in different styles and sizes. Use only exact replacement. Do not attempt to
modify terminal to fit. Failure to comply may cause damage to component.
CAUTION
Extractor tool is fragile. Use gentle force when inserting tool. Do not force tool further into
connector body after a positive stop is felt. If wire does not release, remove tool and try again.
Failure to comply may result in damage to equipment.
NOTE
Tag and mark wires, connectors, and wiring harnesses prior to removal to ensure proper
installation.
Note position of each tie wrap and remove as required.

Using tool (Figure 5, Item 20), remove wire guard (Figure 5, Item 21) from connector body (Figure 5, Item 22).
