WARNING
Barrier grapple weighs approximately 750 lb (340 kg). Do not attempt to lift or move barrier
grapple without the aid of an assistant and suitable lifting device. Failure to comply may result
in injury or death to personnel.

Slightly raise barrier grapple (Figure 1, Item 2) to remove weight from pad angle (Figure 1, Item 3).
NOTE
Make a note of washer locations and quantities during removal to aid with installation.
All bolts are removed and installed in the same manner.
Follow same procedure for both sides of barrier grapple.
Remove and install only one bolt at a time.
Some washers may be welded to the frame at the factory for assembly. If service is being
performed for the first time, some welds may need to be broken. Washers do not need
to be welded to the frame after replacement.

Remove two locknuts (Figure 1, Item 4), bolts (Figure 1, Item 5), and eight washers (Figure 1, Item 6) from
pad angle (Figure 1, Item 3) and grapple (Figure 1, Item 2). Discard locknuts.

If replacing both pad angles, repeat Step (3) for other pad angle (Figure 1, Item 7).

With the aid of an assistant and suitable lifting device (Figure 1, Item 1), remove grapple (Figure 1, Item 2)
from pad angle (Figure 1, Item 3).

Both pad angles are installed in the same way. Both pad angles may be replaced at the
same time.
Install washers as noted during removal.

With the aid of an assistant and suitable lifting device (Figure 2, Item 1), position grapple (Figure 2, Item 2) on
pad angle (Figure 2, Item 3).
