Boom Cylinder Upper Pin Removal.
7.
Remove hose (Figure 3, Item 5) from fitting (Figure 3, Item 6).
WARNING
Boom cylinder weighs 465 lb (210 kg). Do not attempt to lift or move boom cylinder without
the aid of an assistant and suitable lifting device. Failure to comply may result in injury or
death to personnel.
8.
With the aid of an assistant and suitable lifting device (Figure 3, Item 1), slightly raise upper end of boom
cylinder (Figure 3, Item 3) to relieve downward pressure created by weight of boom cylinder.
9.
Remove two nuts (Figure 3, Item 7), bolt (Figure 3, Item 8), and sleeve (Figure 3, Item 9) from pin (Figure 3,
Item 10) and boom (Figure 3, Item 11).
10.
Remove shim (Figure 3, Item 12) from pin (Figure 3, Item 10).
11.
Push pin (Figure 3, Item 10) into boom (Figure 3, Item 11).
12.
Remove shim (Figure 3, Item 13) from pin (Figure 3, Item 10).
13.
Start engine (TM 5-3805-294-10).
