a. Removal.
NOTE
Tag all hoses, ducts, and wires and note
their positions before removal.
Cap and plug all hoses and fittings upon
removal.
Remove cable ties as necessary.
Ensure all hoses, ducts, and wires are
disconnected and clear before removal.

Loosen hose clamp (1) and remove air
duct (2) from evaporator assembly (3).
(2)
Remove two drain lines (4) from evaporator
assembly (3).
Remove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags,
bracelets, etc. If jewelry or tools contact
positive electrical circuits, a direct short may
result. Damage to equipment and injury or
death to personnel may occur.

Disconnect electrical connector (5) from
evaporator assembly (3).
NOTE
Record length of tacky tape to be replaced.
(4)
Remove tacky tape and TX valve (6) from
evaporator assembly (3). Discard tacky tape.
Coolant may damage the skin. Wear
protective equipment and avoid skin contact
when handling coolant.
(5)
Place a drain pan, loosen two hoses
clamps (7) and remove coolant lines (8) from
evaporator assembly (3).
Evaporator assembly is heavy. Use an assistant and follow safe working procedures when removing or
installing evaporator assembly. Failure to comply may result in injury to personnel.
(6)
With the aid of an assistant, remove five bolts (9), washers (10), and evaporator assembly (3) from vehicle.
