Install suitable lifting device (Figure 9, Item 25) to arm cylinder (Figure 9, Item 21).

Position wood block (Figure 9, Item 26) between arm cylinder (Figure 9, Item 21) and boom (Figure 9, Item
27).

Start engine (TM 5-3805-294-10).
24.
With the aid of an assistant and suitable lifting device (Figure 9, Item 25), remove arm cylinder pin (Figure 9,
Item 24) and two shims (Figure 9, Item 28) from arm (Figure 9, Item 14).
25.
Fully retract arm cylinder (Figure 9, Item 21).
26.
With the aid of an assistant and suitable lifting device (Figure 9, Item 25), lower arm cylinder (Figure 9, Item
21) on wood block (Figure 9, Item 26).
27.
Remove suitable lifting device (Figure 9, Item 25) from arm cylinder (Figure 9, Item 21).
28.
Shut engine off (TM 5-3805-294-10).
29.
Relieve hydraulic system pressure. (Volume 5, WP 0767)
30.
Apply vacuum to hydraulic reservoir. (WP 0620)
WARNING
Hydraulic system operates at high pressures and temperatures. Always allow hydraulic oil to
cool and relieve pressure in hydraulic reservoir before working on hydraulic system. Wear
eye protection and gloves to prevent injury. Open lines and hoses slowly and wait for any
