a. Removal.
Remove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags,
bracelets, etc. If jewelry or tools contact positive
electrical circuits, a direct short may result.
Damage to equipment and injury or death to
personnel may occur.
NOTE
Tag all wires and note their positions before
removal.
Remove cable ties as necessary.
(1)
Disconnect hose at transmission oil cooler.
(2)
Remove nut (1) and washer (2) from starter (3).
NOTE
If vehicle has cold weather kit, remove four wires from starter.
(3)
Remove three wires (4) from starter (3).
(4)
Remove nut (5) and washer (6) from starter (3).
(5)
Remove wire (7) from starter (3).
(6)
Remove three bolts (8) from starter (3).
(7)
Remove starter (3) from engine.
