a. Removal.
Remove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags, bracelets, etc. If jewelry or tools contact positive electrical
circuits, a direct short may result. Damage to equipment and injury or death to personnel may occur.
NOTE
Remove cable ties as necessary.
Both blackout lights are removed and installed in the same way.
(1)
Remove two self-locking nuts (1), washers (2),
and ground wire (2.1). Discard self-locking nuts.
(2)
Disconnect wiring (3) from rear blackout
light (4).
(3)
Remove rear blackout light (4) from fender (5).
b. Installation.
(1)
Install wiring (3) to rear blackout light (4).
(2)
Install rear blackout light (4) to fender (5) with
ground wire (2.1), two washers (2), and new self-
locking nuts (1).
c. Follow-On Maintenance.
(1)
Place electrical master switch in ON position
(TM 5-2420-230-10).
(2)
Place ignition switch in ON position (TM 5-2420-230-10).
(3)
Test blackout light (TM 5-2420-230-10).
(4)
Remove "Do Not Operate" tag from ignition switch (TM 5-2420-230-10).
