a. Removal.
Remove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags, bracelets, etc. If jewelry or tools contact positive electrical
circuits, a direct short may result. Damage to equipment and injury or death to personnel may occur.
NOTE
All light bulbs are removed and installed in a similar manner.
To gain access to light bulbs, some components may need to be removed.
(1)
Remove screws securing light bulb cover.
(2)
Carefully remove defective light bulb.
b. Installation.
Steps in the installation of a light bulb are the reverse of the removal procedure with attention given to the following:
To avoid damage to headlight bulbs, do not touch or handle them with bare hands. Failure to comply
may result in damage to equipment.

Ensure light bulb is installed securely.
(2)
Do not overtighten screws on light bulb cover.
c. Follow-On Maintenance.
(1)
Start vehicle and functionally test light bulb to ensure it is operating correctly (TM 5-2420-230-10).
